Lead DevOps Engineer
at Mogo in Vancouver
Mogo is bringing social responsibility, accessibility, and even a little fun to financial services. We’re a diverse team of thinkers and doers focused on bringing some creative destruction to a world dominated by big banks, hidden fees, and old ways of doing things. We may have just IPOed, but being big doesn’t mean that we’re going to stop shipping and adapting fast. By leveraging technology and design, we’re building a financial brand that’s transforming the way Canadians access, manage, and control credit. The vision? Financial products for everyday life that we ourselves would want to use. This is only the beginning.
We are looking for a Lead Devops Engineer who will own the design, development, deployment and operation of our product infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about technology, loves staying on-top of current innovations, and has extensive experience building and operating killer stacks. Our stack is a hybrid consisting of a traditional RoR monolith and a next-gen microservice arch. based around a central message bus. So this position requires a deep knowledge of related tech like Apache/nginx, passenger/unicorn, MySQL, Redis & Haproxy. Experience with Docker and running dockerized microservices in AWS is a big plus.
To be successful, you’ll need to work closely with several technology teams. You’ll work with the development teams that build the products and with the application support team that maintains them. You’ll also work with IT who maintains the corporate servers, networks and firewalls.
